From Campfire to Kitchen: The Rise of Grit Knives’ Kitchen Line

At Grit Knives, adventure has always been at the core of everything we do. Whether it’s crafting blades tough enough to handle the wilderness or reliable enough for everyday carry, we’ve always designed knives that meet the moment. But lately, something unexpected happened.

The Big Sur, our American chef's knife, and the Ventana, our trusted boning knife, have been finding their way into kitchens just as much as they’ve been accompanying you to campsites and hunting trips. And we couldn't be more excited about it.

I recently took the Big Sur out to camp, where it handled carving four bacon-wrapped turkey breasts cooked in a Dutch oven with ease. The smooth cuts, effortless handling, and rugged design earned a ton of compliments around the fire. It's a reminder that a knife designed for adventure can be equally at home in the kitchen, whether you're cooking up a feast for friends or prepping your next culinary masterpiece.

The success of the Big Sur and Ventana has been nothing short of inspiring. You’ve been asking for more, and we’re listening. I’m thrilled to announce that we’ll be expanding our kitchen knife line soon. Think cleavers, paring knives, and maybe even a few surprises—all designed with the same grit, durability, and precision you’ve come to expect from us.

Pat, a longtime Grit Knives customer and adventure enthusiast, recently sent over a stunning collection of photos from Joshua Tree, showcasing the Big Sur in action. His shots perfectly capture the essence of what we’re building—tools that bridge the gap between outdoor exploration and everyday life.

As we gear up for the release of new kitchen knives, we’re inviting you along for the ride. Whether you're a seasoned home chef or just someone who appreciates good tools, there’s something exciting on the horizon. Stay tuned, and as always, thank you for being a part of the Grit Knives family.

Happy Trails, and Happy Cooking,
Chuck
