Tell Me About the Hunt That Stayed With You

Tell Me About the Hunt That Stayed With You

Every season has a way of leaving its mark. Sometimes it is a perfect shot after a long stalk. Sometimes it is a missed chance that teaches you something you will carry into the next year. Sometimes it is the simple quiet of the ridge at first light when the whole world slows down and reminds you why you do this in the first place.

I build knives for moments like these. Not the glamorous ones you see online, but the real ones that happen miles from the trailhead, when the work is hard and the reward feels earned. Over the years, I’ve heard bits and pieces from the hunters who carry my blades. A photo here, a quick message there. And every time, I’m reminded that the best stories in the hunting world aren’t the loud ones. They’re the ones told by people who respect the craft, rely on good tools, and stay steady when things get tough.

This year, as the season winds down and the hills start to settle, I want to gather those stories in one place. I’m putting together a blog feature built entirely from your hunts. Big moments, small moments, pack outs, close calls, first tags, last tags, and anything in between. If you carried a Grit knife in your kit, I’d be honored to hear what it was part of.

If you’re willing to share, send a few photos along with the story behind them to hello at Grit Knives, and leave your phone number. I’ll give you a call so we can walk through the details together. If your story is chosen for the feature, I’ll send you a T shirt as a thank you for trusting my gear in the field and for taking the time to tell the tale.

I’ve always believed that hunting is about more than filling a tag. It’s about the people, the places, the work, and the moments that stay with you long after the season closes. I’m looking forward to seeing the stories this year left behind.
