Three Years Strong: The Story of Grit Knives and the Dream That Wouldn’t Quit

Three years ago today, I hit the “launch” button on Grit Knives. I didn’t have a full catalog, a warehouse, or even a big plan,  just two knives: the Hendrik and the BLK OUT. I remember packing those first few orders at my kitchen table, wrapping each one like it was a piece of gold. Truth is, it felt like it. Those blades represented something bigger... the idea that if you build something with passion, honesty, and purpose, people will feel it.

Now here we are, year three. What started as a side project fueled by late nights and strong coffee has grown into a community of folks who live and breathe the same code. Hard work, time outdoors, and good gear that doesn’t quit. Along the way, we’ve launched new blades, field-tested designs in the wild, and even built a lineup of everyday carry items for the thinkers, doers, and wanderers.

It hasn’t all been easy. There were moments when things got messy, Tariffs,  supply delays, late nights balancing the day job and the dream, second-guessing every decision. But every challenge was met with the same mindset that built this brand: keep moving forward, and never lose your grit.

To everyone who’s picked up a Grit Knife, shared a post, told a friend, or sent me feedback, THANK YOU. You’re the reason this brand keeps pushing forward. Grit Knives isn’t just about blades. It’s about the spirit of making, the satisfaction of using something built to last, and the community that believes in both.

Happy trails,

Chuck
