Out of the Shop, Into the Field

Out of the Shop, Into the Field

I’m heading into the woods for a few weeks.

If you’ve been trying to get your hands on a Grit Knives lately, you may have noticed something unusual. A whole lot of stuff is sold out. That’s because you guys absolutely cleaned me out. The last few weeks have been a little wild. Between a couple of unexpected bumps in traffic, some good Instagram momentum, and people getting ready for hunting season, the shelves got pretty damn bare.

I’ve got a big batch of knives on the way, but there’s one small problem.

They’re going to arrive after I leave.

I’m heading north for a bear hunt in Tahoe, then I’m making my way over to Idaho for a mule deer hunt. I’ll be off the grid for a good chunk of it, which means no sitting around refreshing Instagram, answering emails from a mountaintop, or watching tracking numbers move across the country.

And honestly, that’s probably a good thing.

Grit Knives was never supposed to be a business that existed entirely behind a computer screen. I started this thing because I wanted to combine the two things I’ve spent my life doing, making things and getting outside.

So for the next few weeks, I’m going to do exactly that.

Tahoe for bears. Idaho for mule deer.

And when I get back on October 19, I’ll get back to work.

That means the website will remain open while I’m gone, but orders placed during this time will be delayed and will not ship until I return. If you’re willing to wait, you can still place your order and I’ll get it headed your way as soon as I’m back.

If you need something right away, I completely understand. There will be more knives coming, and I’ll be restocking as soon as I can get caught up.

I’ll also be collecting emails while I’m gone so you can be the first to know when the new batches hit the site.

In the meantime, I’ll be somewhere in the mountains, hopefully carrying a Grit knife, looking for bears and mule deer, and probably wondering why I thought hiking straight uphill with a pack full of gear was a good idea.

Thanks for cleaning me out....Seriously.

See you October 19.

Happy Trails,
Chuck
