The Switch: From Powder to Pursuit
Share
There’s a rhythm to the life I’ve chosen—one that doesn’t follow a calendar so much as it follows the changing air.
Half my year is spent chasing snow. Early mornings, frozen boots, backcountry lines, and the kind of silence you only find high on a ridge. I live for that feeling. That moment you drop into fresh powder and the world disappears beneath your board.
But eventually, the thaw comes. The snow recedes. And something in me shifts.
Because the other half of my year belongs to the hunt.
I trade in my snowboard for a bow. My goggles for optics. I move from the alpine lines to oak flats, ridgelines, and thick brush. It’s not just a change in activity—it’s a switch in mindset. One that’s deeply rooted in respect, patience, and pursuit.
This isn’t a hobby. It’s a lifestyle I built around the outdoors. It’s where I feel most at home. Most clear.
At Grit Knives, every blade we make is designed for this kind of life. Built not to sit on a shelf, but to earn its place in your kit—whether you’re riding a ridge or breaking down an animal.
Today marks my last day on snow. Tomorrow, I’ll be hiking into the backcountry, chasing elk, deer, or whatever wild calls to me.
The board goes in the garage. The bow comes out.
Snowboard season out.
Hunting season in.
And if you're cut from the same cloth… stay tuned. We've got more drops coming soon.
Happy Trails,
