The Hombi wasn’t named after a mountain or a tactic.
It was named after a man.
I met Hombi while splitboarding in Alaska. He was over 70 years old and still guiding climbs through brutal terrain with the kind of calm confidence that only comes from a lifetime outdoors. He carried himself differently. Full of stories that made you stop talking and listen.
What stuck with me most was his timeline.
He didn’t even start flying Super Cubs until he was 50.
That changed something in my head. In a world obsessed with being early, Hombi reminded me that adventure doesn’t expire. Reinvention doesn’t expire. Some people grow older and smaller. Others keep expanding.
He became a benchmark for me, the kind of person I hope to still be becoming decades from now.
To commemorate that spirit, I engraved a Super Cub into the knife itself. Not as decoration, but as a reminder of exploration, and the idea that there’s still a lot of horizon left ahead of us.
The Hombi is built around that philosophy.
Featuring a clean Micarta handle, premium 14C28N steel, and a smooth button lock mechanism, this knife was designed to feel dependable without being flashy. The deep-carry pocket clip keeps it low profile and ready for everyday carry, whether you’re traveling into the backcountry or just heading into another long day.
The Hombi is about carrying a little bit of that mindset with you.Stay curious. Keep moving. Start late if you have to.
